More about this painting

“With ‘Openings’ I started a new series of paintings of similar sizes, techniques and theme. The idea came to me during a meditation. I saw the colors blue, brown and a lot of white, which was new to me! I saw a lot of space, and thereafter I saw the opening. From there I continued my walk to see the next one: Towers. The brightness and the light were great things to explore while making this piece. 

Also these series taught me to work in an new abstract way. I used to make blocks in my paintings, but here there are vertical lines. Also I used the technique of ‘frottage’, torn pieces of paper that are pasted on the canvas. It’s a brilliant way to get structure in a painting.”
