“In the Summer of 2019 I’ve painted the flowers of the Hibiscus, watching it closely in my garden. It was a great experience to pluck some flowers to study them, and bees were sitting upon the flowers. I was not satisfied with the background. In 2020 I had exactly the right colour on my palette for another painting. I used it to change the background of the painting.”
