more about this painting

“I was working on this one in our rented house in Austria. We had some really hot days, and pretty wet days. Because we had a garden under a balcony I was able to work outside all day, even when it was pouring rain. I was preparing papers with ink and fluid acrylics for another work while this idea came up: I put a large piece of paper in the rain, with some inks on it and see what happens… After half an hour things were all flowing. It was already amazing and I didn’t want to use this to cut in small pieces. So I pasted the whole paper upon a canvas and did the rest with acrylic paint. Sometimes it’s so simple and playful to make art!”
